Quote of the Day: Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado exposes Cuba’s undue influence in Venezuela

Cuba’s undue influence in Venezuela is what is keeping the Maduro dictatorship in power. In an interview with El Nacional, Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado makes this clear (my translation):

“The Cuban regime tells Maduro this is all a bluff, that it’s all a lie. They have him believing that nothing will happen, that there won’t be any firm or clear action to save Venezuela. They offer him Cuba as an example, which has been devastated for 60 years and yet nothing has happened and they have total impunity. … [You] have to understand that the legal system, the armed forces, the media, the sectors of production, and all Venezuelan society have been co-opted by a mafia-like and criminal regime.”
